Summary

Under the direction of the District Dyslexia Specialist and the Assistant Superintendent, the Paraprofessional-Dyslexia Interventionist will plan and implement quality, multisensory dyslexia intervention using the Barton Reading and Spelling System in small group settings for students who meet the eligibility guidelines.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Certification




  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Associate Degree (two year college or technical school): Preferred, however, a passing score on the Paraprofessional Proficiency Assessment will substitute for the Associate Degree requirement  
  • Must be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with computers and programs associated with the position

Primary Performance Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction under the supervision of the District Dyslexia Specialist for students identified with Characteristics of Dyslexia as set by Arkansas state requirements.
  • Follow the district Dyslexia program's guidelines to implement with fidelity.
  • Maintain all paperwork, data management, folders, and progress monitoring required.
  • Frequently communicate with supervisors, teachers, and parents on student progress.
  • Attend and complete professional development requirements related to Dyslexia and other district processes/programs/protocols as needed and/or required.
