Title: Instructional Paraprofessional

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 semester credit hours at a regionally accredited institution of higher education a required.) -or- Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree -or- Passed the Paraprofessional Assessment.

 

Strong knowledge in Math/Literacy skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•Demonstrate commitment to equitable outcomes and high standards for all learners

 

•Build meaningful relationships with students that inform instruction and create community among learners

 

•Engage as members of our community with flexibility, positivity, and a growth-mindset as part of a larger team

 

•Comply with all school obligations, policies and expectations, including abiding by all state and federal mandates 

• Deliver Math/Literacy interventions in small group settings.

 

EXPECTATIONS

  

•Build relationships with students and foster a community of learners who collaborate, take risks, and persist. 

 

•Collaborate: Actively collaborate with colleagues on the instructional team and school leaders

 

•Establish Goals: Set clear short-term and long-term goals to inspire productivity among students.

 

•Assessment: Consistently assess student progress as well as inform support teams regarding decisions for students who are struggling academically, socially, or emotionally. 

 

•Support: Consistently implement support plans for all identified students to maximize success for all students.

 

•Policies and Procedures:  Administer Watson Chapel’s student policies and procedures (i.e. attendance, dress code, etc.).
