Assistant Principal
The Watson Chapel Board of Education announces an opening for an Assistant Principal
Start Date: 2024-2025

The Superintendent reserves the right to either keep the position open until suitable applicants are found or to cancel and repost the position with such changes as may be deemed appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Building Level Administrator License, Subject Specific Endorsement or enrolled in Alternative Program leading to license issued by Arkansas Department of Education
- At least three years of experience as a classroom teacher
- Must satisfactorily complete Bureau of Criminal Investigation background check.
Desired:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents/guardians, the community, institutions of higher education, business leaders, and administrative staff.
- Strong knowledge of best practices in curriculum and instruction, program evaluation, evidence of classroom effectiveness, budget management, and data analysis.
- Demonstrated knowledge of state/federal regulations and accreditation requirements governing public education programs.
- Ability to communicate oral and/or written ideas and directives clearly and effectively;
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct staff evaluations as necessary.
- Administer student discipline, monitor student attendance and detention hall attendance.
- Assist in the development of the master schedule and oversee scheduling process.
- Order all necessary office forms as required, review and approve school purchase requests and prepare reports.
- Assist with supervision at building level of state and federal programs.
- Attend and provide supervision at extracurricular activities.
- Assist with student supervision at all times.
- Communicate with parents, staff and students as needed.
- Answer questions concerning curriculum and instruction for teachers and parents.
- Interview applicants, check references and complete hire forms.
- File FINS petitions and attend court proceedings as necessary.
- Assist with student registration.
- Oversee campus security.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
